I'm proud to say that the 2011 TFT Parade was my 29th in a row, and it gets better every year. I call it "The World's Greatest Motorcycle Parade". Tim, you gave one of the best accounts of The Parade that I've ever read. It's always so much fun. It's like having your birthday and Christmas and the Super Bowl all at the same time. And, remember, it's the only Chicago parade that actually helps people and has a beneficial purpose. Thanks for your support!

Been riding for years, this would have been my 4th Toys for Tots ride. You'll see more and more events, that allow you to give back. At least you're not just starting to get out of that shell of yours. You can always give back even when you're not riding. It's a great feeling regardless.

Welcome to the 2-wheel world.
It's cool, isn't it, that so many people don't 'get it'? Makes it a bit more exclusive for those of us who do.
When I got back into riding 20+ years ago, some family and friends were negative and critical. But as the years passed and they saw me still alive (!), and having fun (!!), they gradually, grudgingly, came around. A few even began to express interest. Yes, it's more dangerous than driving a car (never kid yourself, it really is), and no it's not for everyone. But for those who 'get it'... it permeates our lives, our dreams. There's no going back.

Yes sir. We met early on this year and have ridden quite a few times, both learning more and more day after day, ride after ride, and it's never quite the same. Given the both of us being car guys and both owning bikes, I can also attest and say that riding is definitely a universe all in its own. Shiny side up and rubber side down, this is a part of my life that is always going to remain down to my very soul.

See you soon bro!

That is why it's incredibly important to make sure your caught up with window tinting laws. Cops are vigilant on it. Not only that, but getting pulled over for tint can open the door for many more things. Best to err on the side of caution and stay within the legal limits; that's my opinion.

As far as I know the "temperature sensor" is just that. If you didn't know all current SATA hard drives come standard with SMART technology that not only monitors the hard drive temperature but also the errors, rpms, hours on, and many other factors that are mission critical in predicting hard drive failure. So as far as I am concerned, until Apple proves otherwise, they just did this to do it and make more money.

> If you look at the Apple ‘average customer’
> profile, this move will not affect more than 90%
> of loyal Apple customers

Congratulations on missing the point. Delete your comment it's wasting a couple precious kb.

Tim, one question I have, is, are Apple's temperature sensors better? If Apple wants to do something rude, it should explain itself. That it has failed to publicly provide an explanation case for the proprietary hardware (and that'd have to be a pretty damn strong case) is unprofessional and unfriendly. I agree with you there.

As far as a "power play" goes . . I say good. This will only lean further pressure on the market.

If you look at the Apple 'average customer' profile, this move will not affect more than 90% of loyal Apple customers. Like most people who drive Buicks, Accords, and Camrys, what the mainstream customer wants is a reliable computing 'appliance' that they don't have to worry about or even think about. If it breaks, they call someone else to fix it. When it gets slow, full, or unreliable, they buy a new one. It's primarily the hardcore fanbois, developers, systems integrators, and 3rd-party upgrade vendors and repair facilities who will have to deal with this new 'feature'.
