On December 1st my co-worker @ThPacketSlinger asked me if I would be interested in going to a meeting for this group called “BurbSec”. He explained that is was for people in the IT field and who are interested in or work in the IT security field. It sounded interesting so I decided to go.
They meet at a nice pub/restaurant in Schaumburg. The food was good and the company was even better. There was everyone from basic IT people to people that have been in the security industry for years. Everyone was friendly and willing to share their stories, experiences, and try to answer any questions that you may have about their line of work. I definitely see this as a good social and business networking opportunity and will be attending their next meeting. They meet every 1st Thursday of the month.
