I just wanted to make a quick post and share with everyone a quick fix to restore the Classic new tab page in Google Chrome. I myself hate the new version of their new tab page and wanted my old one back. My most missed feature that the new version of the new tab page is the Recently Closed button.
Here is how you do it:
- Open a new tab in Chrome
- Copy and paste the following into the Chrome address bar and hit enter: chrome://flags/#enable-instant-extended-api
- Turn off the Instant Extended API by clicking the drop-down and selecting the Disable option.
- Click the Relaunch Chrome button that appears towards the bottom of the window.
Chrome should reload and you will now see the old style new tab window when you load new tabs. If you have any other Chrome tips and/or extensions that you would like to share drop me a line on the Contact Me page on the right. Thanks for reading!
